President

Mr. Bailey is a third generation equipment leasing specialist. For over 35 years his clients were the CEO’s, CFO’S  and owners of domestic and International Corporations largest manufacturers, distributors, and service providers. Over the course of his career he created hundreds of millions of dollars in innovative financial transactions which were used by these executives to drive cost out of their operations.

Mr. Bailey has held board positions in four leasing companies, founded eight other companies, including two equipment leasing companies, fleet maintenance, retail food, food distribution, record publishing, kiosk manufacturing, elder care services, consulting, agribusiness, and marketing survey system/services.  He has held CEO, COO, CFO and executive officer positions with responsibility over national accounts sales, operations, finance, maintenance, credit, accounting, administration, remarketing and asset disposal. His personal experience how each department interrelates to the other allows him to reconnect the elements necessary to create team solutions which will refine and assure continued profitability.  His specific knowledge of equipment, fleet operations, and equipment leasing allow him to be recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice where he served as an expert witness.

Currently, he manages his real estate portfolio, and acts an equity participant and sponsor for Tenant In Common commercial properties that he identifies,ownes and manages.

As a SCORE volunteer/mentor he works with a special Business Assistance Team of specialists to solve issues for locally owned family businesses.  This BAT team works with their clients to identify, improve, expand and solve current financial and operational issues.  He is part of a team that has pioneered new programs with local Universities to expose their graduate students to the realities of actual problem solving issues. Allowing them to be better prepared to compete and succeed in today’s difficult business environment.

As a third generation family business owner he has personally dealt with the financial and emotional complexities of the family owned business and works with owners on succession planning and operational issues. 


Sheldon Philips

Mr. Philips has over 25 years experience in business system development and management, and business strategy consulting.

Representative work includes: Setting the strategic direction for a $2.5 million catalog Web site and managing a strategic overview project for Freightliner.  Negotiating, then implementing the conversion of an airline reservation system increasing profits by $3 million in one year for a major travel company in Cincinnati, OH.  Identifying and implementing Key Performance Indicators for a leading automotive lubricants manufacturer.

Mr. Philips has consulted WorldSpan (the reservations system partnership between Delta Air Lines, Northwest and TWA) on reporting system development by specifying their low fare reporting data hand-off. Mr. Philips has authored nine computer user books focused on training users how to use spreadsheets to solve accounting problems.

Mr. Philips’ extensive technology background enables LD Bailey & Associates to evaluate, audit and recommend technology solutions for materials handling equipment management. His years of strategic consulting project management experience is the backbone of LD Bailey’s ability to deliver findings on time and in a way that simply communicates our findings. Finally, Mr. Philips’ accounting and auditing experience is incorporated into LD Bailey’s Bill and Warranty Review process and in the data analysis contained in our Fleet Management services.
